Shell supports fete for top Filipino firefighters
The Outstanding Pilipino Firefighers for 2013 were feted by Shell Country HSSE Manager Arsenio Isidro (standing, 2nd from right) and Pilipinas Shell Foundation Executive Director Edgar Veron Cruz (standing, 3rd from right) together with (standing, from left to right) SOPI Chairman Engr. Alberto H. Suansing, BFP Officer in Charge CSupt Carlito S. Romero, SOPI National President Eros G. Zuñiga, and SOPI Board Auditor Wilfredo B. Muñoz
“This is our way to acknowledge the excellent performance of these uniformed and civilian volunteers, assuring the safety of people, especially at times of emergency,” said Shell HSSE (Health, Safety, Security, and Environment) Country Manager Arsenio Isidro. “Despite the risks of their work, these men and women extend their best, professionally and with integrity, which is why we are glad to partner with SOPI and BFP in recognising the efforts of our fire fighters.”
For four years now, Shell has partnered with SOPI and BFP in recognizing the efforts of fire fighters selflessly risking their lives to protect public and private properties from fire and man-made disasters. Such support is part of Shell’s fundamental orientation toward safety not only in the workplace, but in the communities it operates in, along with other social investment advocacies such as road safety, driver education, sustainable mobility, developing new energy sources, and many others.
The outstanding fire fighters for 2013 are: S/Supt. Ma. Luisa C. Hadjula from Region 7; Supt. Jose S. Embang from NCR; Supt. Aladdin M. Guiomala from Region 12; Supt. Domingo V. Tambalo and Insp. Josephus F. Alburo from Region 7; C/Insp. Dennis A. Molo from NHQ; C/Insp. Roderick E. Ramirez from Region 2; C/Insp. Rodrigo N. Reyes from NCR; and SFO2 Glenn V. Paat from Region 1.

The awardees received a cash award sponsored by Pilipinas Shell Foundation Inc., accident insurance worth Php200,000, a plaque of recognition, and an automatic nomination for further recognition at the Civil Service Commission’s Lingkod Bayan Awards.
