Shell companies in the Philippines received a Bronze Award for Shell Eco-marathon Asia 2014 in the 2015 Asia-Pacific Tambuli Awards held at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium of RCBC Plaza in Makati City. The Asia-Pacific Tambuli Awards celebrate the most effective and creative social good campaigns.

Shell’s entry “Championing Smarter Mobility Through the Shell Eco-marathon Asia” was recognised under the Social Good Category - Advocacy. It showcased Shell’s effort in mounting what is considered as one of the world’s most innovative and challenging student competitions as part of its centennial celebration in 2014.

Shell Eco-marathon as an educational project is part of Shell’s roster of programmes that is geared to spark debate about the future of mobility. It is a unique competition which challenges students to design and build energy-efficient vehicles to compete for recording the highest mileage using only one litre of fuel and aims to educate audiences on Shell’s advocacy on sustainability, smarter mobility and fuel efficiency.

This year’s Tambuli entries were reviewed by prominent movers and shakers in the business and advertising arena from the Asia Pacific. Organised by the University of Asia and the Pacific, Tambuli Awards is the only global award that honours brands that deliver results and promote social good.
