  • 03/02/2010 SIKAT stops over at MAPUA

    After the launch of Sikat, the Philippines’ second solar car, at the De La Salle University (DLSU)-Manila, universities and malls topped its list for a nationwide road show. Among its first stops after the provincial tour was the Mapua Institute of Technology (MIT) in Intramuros, Manila.

  • 01/02/2010 Sikat pit stops in University of San Carlos - Cebu

    CEBU CITY - The Sikat Solar Car Exhibit was held at the Bunzel building lobby of the College of Engineering of the University of San Carlos-Talamban (USC-TC). Prior to the exhibit in the USC-TC, a motorcade comprised of 20 vehicles and more than 80 USC-TC faculty and students was held from Cebu’s Pier 5 to the USC-Talamban campus.

    ILIGAN CITY – A huge crowd had gathered inside the Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT). Everyone was waiting with excitement, cameras in hand, with a hint of impatience. Judging by the number of people that attended the Sikat exhibit and the mood that permeates the atmosphere around the campus, it was as if Manny Pacquiao himself will be arriving at MSU-IIT.

    It was a day of song and dance in University of Mindanao (UM) as it warmly welcomed Team Sikat into their campus. Not only was the UM Rondalla belting out music with their bandurias and octavinas, there was also UM Makabayan’s Percussion Music Group drumming up the excitement of the whole exhibit.

  • 25/01/2010 SIKAT road show in SM Davao

    Sikat, the country's second solar-powered vehicle, travelled to Mindanao after a successful tour across universities in Metro Manila. First stop was Davao, where Sikat was brought to SM City Davao, Ateneo de Davao and the University of Mindanao as a showcase of Filipino ingenuity and the country's capacity to excel at harnessing solar technology.
