With just months away from the much-anticipated Shell Eco-marathon (SEM) Asia set on July 8-10, Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation and the SEM participating schools Don Bosco Technical College, Mapua Institute of Technology and University of Santo Tomas are all eager to heavily promote the competition and elicit support from the public.

Road Safety & Defensive Driving Workshop for RP's SEM delegates
The Philippine’s first delegates to the inaugural Shell Eco-marathon in Asia underwent a Road Safety and Defensive Driving seminar to intensify the students’ safe driving skills and advocate for road safety practice at all times.

UST Engineering Eco-marathon Team inaugurates “Tiger 400”
The University of Santo Tomas (UST), the country’s oldest engineering school, recently showed its support for the UST Engineering Eco-marathon Team in a launch event and unveiling ceremony of Tiger 400, the team’s vehicle entry to the Shell Eco-Marathon Asia in July 2010.

Shell Eco-marathon students guest in Radio Veritas
To further promote the inaugural Shell Eco-marathon Asia, the Shell Eco-marathon (SEM) Philippine team leaders composed of engineering students from Don Bosco Technical College, Mapua Institute of Technology and the University of Santo Tomas guested for an interview in Radio Veritas 846 last February 15, 2010.

Shell welcomes Philippine delegates to Eco-Marathon Asia
Engineering students from Don Bosco Technical College, Mapua Institute of Technology and the University of Sto. Tomas represent Team Philippines in the inaugural Shell Eco-Marathon (SEM) Asia. Held in Europe for over 25 years and more recently in the Americas, the Shell Eco-marathon will come to Asia for the first time on July 2010 at the Sepang International Circuit in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where over a hundred educational institutions will be competing in this annual race for fuel efficiency.

Shell backs SEM Asia Team Philippines; introduces godfathers
On December 21, 2009, Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation expressed its full support to the Shell Eco-marathon Asia Philippine team by handing over Php 300,000 to each of the three participating schools as financial assistance. Don Bosco College, Mapua Institute of Technology and University of Santo Tomas students, professors and deans were present to receive the grant in an informal ceremony held at the Makati Sports Club.
