A winning team
We work closely with the Ferrari team in Formula One to develop the highest performance Shell V-Power race fuels and gain the best reliability from Shell Helix Ultra racing lubricants for the Ferrari team. These learnings are used to develop Shell’s fuels for road cars, to help power and protect them worldwide. View the Shell V-Power benefits demonstration to see how our technical partnership could benefit your driving.
A fruitful technical partnership
Enzo Ferrari produced his first Ferrari racing car, a Ferrari 125C, for a race in Piacenza, Italy in May 1947. Although it did not finish, it was quick from the outset, even leading the race at the time of retirement. When Enzo Ferrari set up his own team, he took Shell technology with him. Providing Ferrari with fuels and oils, we've had the opportunity to develop our products in an extremely demanding environment, something we continue to do today.
The winning edge
Helping to power the Ferrari Formula One team to 134 Grand Prix titles

Since Enzo Ferrari himself asked us to work with his racing team, we have been developing and refining fuels, and have helped power the Ferrari Formula One team to 134 Grand Prix titles. This includes 6 FIA Constructors' World Championship titles since 1999.
The technical partnership has now been renewed until 2010, and Shell scientists will continue to provide their expertise in fuel development.
Constant innovation
As part of this continuous development process, Shell provides full analytical services at every race. Our team of experts staff the Shell Track Lab, a trackside laboratory in the Ferrari team compound. We constantly test fuel and oil in the Ferrari Formula One cars to help the drivers perform their best on the track.
As in the words of Jean Todt, Ferrari Managing Director, 2006, after the European Grand Prix:
˜The sixteen points we got are no miracle, but come from a perfect combination of many elements: two drivers of the calibre of Michael and Felipe, the team, the chassis, the engine, the high-performing Bridgestone tyres and the fundamental support from Shell, in terms of fuel and lubricants.”In anticipation of more race track successes, the 2007 Ferrari Formula One race car is supplied with Shell V-Power race fuel and Shell Helix Ultra racing oil.

Not everyone can own a Ferrari. However by constantly improving Shell V-Power race fuel and Shell Helix Ultra racing oil for Ferrari Formula One drivers, and taking learnings to road fuel development, we aim to help drivers of all cars and motorbikes get more from their drive.
Every Ferrari road car leaves the production line in Maranello, filled with Shell V-Power and Shell Helix Ultra. How can Ferrari be so certain they are right for their vehicles? The answer lies in our constant development process.
A close technical partnership
Our scientists work daily with Ferrari Formula One engineers and technicians. This gives us an in-depth understanding of engine performance in the highly-stressed environment of Formula One, so they know what fuel and oils are needed.
Applying the learnings
We work with an uncompromising brand like Ferrari because by providing the best possible fuels and oils for their Formula One team, we have an extremely demanding environment for our products. Surviving this harshest of engineering tests gives us the valuable insights we need to keep improving Shell V-Power for motorists worldwide.
