A symbol of excellence, the Anvil is dubbed as the “Oscars” of Public Relations in the Philippines and is given annually by the PRSP to outstanding public relations programs and tools that reflect and promote public interest, good values and genuine service to the community and society.

Shell, a global leader in power and energy, exemplifies through local programs its commitment to nation-building while offering energy-efficient products and technology that not only reduce the company’s carbon footprint but also help their customers do the same. Shell Pepeng Pasada Club (PPC) caters exclusively to Public Utility Vehicle (PUV) drivers, where active members with an average basket size of 200 liters of fuel per month for four wheel vehicles and 50 liters for tricycle and small boats, are eligible to receive the S.I.R. benefits, which are Scholarship, Insurance and Rewards. The Scholarship benefit offers capacity-building programs, free basic skills and livelihood courses to its members and their dependents, thus enhancing their skills and employability. The Insurance benefit enables members to get free accident insurance which covers claims for partial and permanent disability and death. The Rewards benefit allows members to exchange their points for various items and appliances.

Shell Pepeng Pasada Club is one of the five Shell programs that bagged an Anvil Award of Merit. The other programs include Shell Eco-marathon Asia, Shell Young Eco Savers program, Movement Against Malaria and Shell FuelSave Day – Guinness World Record for Largest Fuel Efficiency Lesson.

President Benigno S. Aquino III, in his message, lauded the PRSP and this year’s Anvil awardees and encouraged them to continue in their pursuit for excellence in their practice of Public Relations. “This [Anvil] coveted award has enriched the Philippine business landscape for decades, by ensuring the highest level of professionalism in a field that sustains our market with consumer confidence and public trust…We in government are grateful in having you as allies in driving development, and we look upon you to maintain this commitment as you seek greater terrains of success,” he stated.

The 48th Anvil Awards was celebrated last March 6, 2013 at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel.
