Top 3 Organizations
The top three (3) organizations will win attractive prizes, with ‘The Most Outstanding Student Organization of the Year’ walking away with grand prize worth over PHP100,000*!
- First Prize – worth more than Php 100,000 ( cash sponsorship + Shell premiums)
- Second Prize – worth more than Php 70,000 ( cash sponsorship + Shell premiums)
- Third Prize – worth more than Php 50,000 ( cash sponsorship + Shell premiums)
Who should join?
The Shell Young Leaders Program is open to any Business or Engineering-based student organization that meets the following criteria:
1. Duly accredited organization for at least 2 years
2. Student organizations must fall under one of the three categories:
- Professional - Groups with a unique focus, particularly in preparing students for professional lives/careers
- Academic - Groups supportive of the mission of a particular academic department
- General leadership - Groups that govern and develop leadership potential
3. Minimum membership size: thirty (30) members
4. School endorsement(s) to participate
Key milestones
1. Send an application using the following template - click here for the application forms
- Closing date of application is October 7, 2019
2. Get selected – October 2019
- Upon application, the Shell Young Leaders Program team will pick up to twenty organizations to be part of the project
3. Join the specially designed workshops – October 2019 - May 2020
- Undergo a total of six sessions of capacity and leadership building workshops by industry experts – mandatory participation of representatives for all sessions
- Receive Exclusive mentorship sessions with Shell senior leaders
4. Implement your annual plan – December 2019 – May 2020
- Do all of these, of course while implementing the plans you set out at the start of the school year.
- Present your mid-year (December 2019) and final reports (May 2020)
5. Get a chance to win the Shell Young Leaders Program
- Join the Shell Young Leaders Program night and get a chance to be recognized as one of the top three best-run student organizations
Project mechanics
How can my organization apply?
Please fill up the following:
- duly accomplished organization application form
- Two-page outline of the organization’s plans and programs for AY 2019 – 2020 and a short paragraph describing the organization’s capacity to achieve these plans and programs
- a letter of endorsement from the college/university’s office of student affairs
How do we get selected?
The following are the criteria for selection into the Shell Young Leaders Program:
(1) Organizational capacity:
- Robust organizational plan (15%) – how well the organizational plan aligns with the organization vision and proposition
- Good financial standing (15%) – the organization’s health and potential to grow/achieve their year’s plans
(2) Organizational impact (20%)
- Relevance of organization’s plans to address wider issues to achieve the organization’s core purpose (i.e. how the organization’s mission-vision enables members to be workforce-ready Filipinos)
(3) Plans and programs for 2019
- Relevance (20%) – relevance of plans and programs in enhancing leadership and skills development and employability among its members
- Creativity and innovation (15%) – use of creative and innovative solutions to implement plans and programs for AY 2019-2020
- Sustainability (15%) – how the organization maximizes resources and networks to complete its plans and programs successfully
What are the next steps?
- Applications must be submitted, in a zipped folder to sylp@pbed.ph
- The Shell Young Leaders Program team will screen applications and inform the selected organizations within the first two weeks of October
- Once selected, we will invite your organization to an onboarding meeting where further details and timelines of the project will then be shared
