Shell Advance launches competition to find the ultimate riding wonder
Jun 23, 2011
Shell Advance, the leading motorcycle lubricant brand and Ducati’s technical partner, has today launched their new global promotion to find the world’s ultimate Riding Wonder. ‘The Seven Riding Wonders of The World’ promotion is asking motorcycle enthusiasts from all corners of the globe to vote for their favourite road, track or riding experience.
From the historic Route 66 in the USA to the winding roads of the Amalfi coast in Italy, everyone will have their own favourite route. Expert panellists from Ducati, Shell, DORNA and Sepang International Circuit will offer their opinions on the routes and will be on hand at the grand finale at the 2011 Shell Advance Malaysian MotoGP to select the ultimate Riding Wonder. One lucky winner will then get the once in a lifetime opportunity to visit the ultimate Riding Wonder.
Tanmay Jaswal, Shell Advance Global Marketing Manager: “The launch of this promotion gives us the opportunity to engage with motorcyclists around the world. It brings together our longstanding technical partnership with Ducati Corse and recently signed title sponsorship of the 2011 Shell Advance Malaysian MotoGP to bring a real, once in a lifetime opportunity to our customers. There are 22 routes from 18 countries that will test the responsiveness of any bike and we look forward to the outcome of the vote to find the ultimate Riding Wonder of the world.”
Vanessa Ejercito, Shell Lubricants Brand and Communications Manager for the Philippines said: “We welcome the opportunity to be involved in a truly global promotion. We are encouraging bikers from all over the country to vote for their favourite Riding Wonder, whether it be the Philippines’ North Luzon Loop or a route overseas that they would one day like to visit. The ultimate prize of witnessing the 2011 Shell Advance Malaysian MotoGP is a once in a lifetime opportunity that gives us the chance to show our customers how Shell Advance’s technical partnership with Ducati comes to life on the track.”
Shell has a real heritage in motorcycle racing. The 2011 season sees the Shell-powered Ducati ridden by two former world champions, Valentino Rossi and Nicky Hayden.
