Held for the last three decades now, TOPF affirms the role of Filipino firefighters in carrying out their duties for the safety of their community. Nominees will be judged based on their values, interpersonal and community relations and performance. Representatives from the Bureau of Fire Protection, Office of the Ombudsman, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, Civil Service Commission, National Bureau of Investigation and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group will form the screening committee, known as the National Working Technical Group. A multi-sectoral panel comprising representatives form government and private sector will serve as final evaluators. Shell has been supporting TOPF since 2008.

TOPF is one of the many programs lined up by Shell in observance of the Fire Prevention Month. In line with this year’s theme- “Makiisa, Makialam at Makipagtulungan Upang Sunog Maiwasan,” Shell recently signed a Fire Safety Initiative MOA with BFP. The campaign consists of safety trainings, programs and fire drills to be held in Shell’s network of terminals, retails sites and corporate offices.

Shell cares for its neighbors and thus ensures that it operates safely and responsibly. Safety is of utmost importance to Shell. We aim to have zero fatalities and no incidents that harm people, or put our neighbours or facilities at risk, and we work with like-minded partners to promote safety in the community. # # #
