Shell Anibong Terminal, Malampaya Onshore Gas Plant win prestigious DENR Award
Jan 08, 2013
Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation and Shell Philippines Exploration B.V. were among the 18 firms which received DENR’s Official Seal of Approval, in recognition of their efforts in incorporating green policies across business operations to help protect the environment. The 18 awardees have not faced a single complaint before the DENR's Pollution Adjudication Board (PAB) in the past three years.
DENR Secretary Ramon J.P. Paje in a statement said, "The awardees were chosen because of their exemplary environmental performance and for going beyond mere compliance with existing environmental laws and regulations."
Shell Anibong Terminal in Tacloban and the Malampaya Onshore Gas Plant (MOGP) in Batangas were named as two most environmentally responsible facilities by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).
Both facilities had been given the DENR Seal of Approval under the Track 1 Category of the Philippine Environment Partnership Programme (PEPP). This high-profile recognition means that the MOGP and the Shell Anibong Terminal are going beyond compliance i.e. having no case/cases filed with the PAB for three years prior to the date of application; had been meeting all applicable environmental laws, rules and regulations; and having a proven record of superior environmental performance.
