Shell FuelSave Day bags prestigious Anvil
Mar 18, 2013
The Shell FuelSave Day that successfully marked a Guinness World Record for the Largest Fuel Efficiency Lesson reaped a coveted Anvil Award of Merit under the PR Tools – Special Events Category in the 48th Anvil Awards, conferred by the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP). The Anvil Award is known as a symbol of excellence among Public Relations practitioners and is dubbed as the “Oscars” of local PR practice as it recognizes outstanding PR programs and tools that promote public interest, good values and genuine service to the community and society.
The Shell FuelSave Day was held simultaneously on October 15, 2011 in 11 cities across Europe and Asia—inspiring a worldwide celebration of fuel saving where motorists learned how to save fuel and cut their driving costs. Noted as the largest fuel economy seminar ever held, a total of 3, 243 participated in the historic Guinness World Record for the Largest Fuel Efficiency Lesson.
Shell FuelSave Day is inspired by Shell’s continuous search for smarter products and technology that not only reduce the company’s carbon footprint, but also help customers do the same. Shell FuelSave, for one, is a fuel product that contains the most advanced Shell fuel economy formula to date that is designed to promote energy efficiency and fuel saving among customers at no extra cost. Aside from making a Guinness World Record, Shell FuelSave implements the Target One Million campaign that aims to help one million motorists across the globe learn how to save fuel through a series of interactive, online mini-games that equip drivers with fuel-saving driving skills.
Other Shell companies in the Philippines (SciP) programs that won an Anvil Award of Merit include Shell Eco-marathon Asia, Shell Young Eco Savers, Movement Against Malaria and Shell Pepeng Pasada Club.
The 48th Anvil Awards was celebrated last March 6, 2013 at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel.
