Shell StationStories – Joseph
What I don’t want to happen is that they’d be ignored or they’d be taken for granted.
Why did you drop in at the station today?
I’m actually on my way to a meeting. So I dropped by Shell to get gas before I go to my meeting.
What do you do? What field are you in?
I started with a finance company. But eventually I found my way here. Marketing.
Any other interests that you’re into?
I also do volunteer work. I do counselling for those who would get tested for HIV. And I provide them with the necessary information and I also educate them about AIDS and HIV.
Why do you do it?
Because I love helping people. And I have friends who have been diagnosed with HIV. So when I do my counselling I always think of my friends and how they would react if they were in that position, if they were that client. Wat I don’t want to happen is that they’d be ignored. Or that they’d be taken for granted. But we tell them that they’re not alone, that they’re loved. And that all of these challenges, they can overcome.
