Shell StationStories – Erick
He said: Come back tomorrow. You can but some clothes, fix yourself, take an exam so you can have a job.
Can you tell me what your job is here? Can you describe your typical day here?
Usually we are outside on a typical day. We ask the customers what else they need. Then we tell them about our promos. At the same time, when they fill up outside our pit crew is there automatically, including myself.
How long have you been working here?
More than ten years.
Kuya, how has your work at Shell changed you over the past ten years?
There has been a big change for me. Before I was at a low point. I was picking up garbage. Because my wife was pregnant at the time. Then at the same time, I came here. I had no money at all. They also saw me when I was carrying a plastic bag. Plastic that I would pick up from the street. The manager here gave me 1000 peso.
He said: Come back here tomorrow. You can buy clothes, fix yourself, take an exam so you can have a job. That was the time that they helped me. Which I wasn’t expecting. That’s why I am still here.
What are your dreams for yourself? What do you still want to achieve?
My real dream is to become a station dealer.
