New Shell FuelSave 95

The new Shell FuelSave 95 gives you up to 24km more per tank, so you can drive further.

Shell FuelSave 95 for 2-wheelers

In our tests Shell FuelSave 95 lasted up to 24km more per tank*

*Helps to clean and protect key fuel system components such as intake valves and/or fuel injectors from the build up of performance robbing deposits. Shell gasoline compared with unadditivated fuel in 2W’s with average tank size of up to 7L. Actual effects and benefits may vary according to vehicle type, vehicle condition and driving style and benefit is defined for fuels with the same biocontent as our fuel economy formula. No guarantees provided.

The fuel economy benefit of Shell FuelSave 95 in 2-wheel applications, via its advanced deposit control additive (DCA) technology to keep the critical engine parts protected from the build-up of performance-robbing deposits, has been substantiated using a range of industry standard tests and internal tests derived from industry standard methodologies.

Drive/Ride up to 24Kms more per tank with Shell FuelSave 95*

*Shell FuelSave 95 gasoline with 95RON compared to lower octane fuel RON91 in octane responsive vehicles. Mileage based on an average tank size of 50L. Actual effects and benefits may vary according to vehicle type, driving conditions and driving style, and benefit is defined for fuels with the same biocontent. No guarantees provided.

Our newly launched Shell FuelSave 95 has a higher octane number, bringing enhanced efficiency to the engine, and therefore providing further fuel economy benefit.

A fuel’s octane rating is a measure of its resistance to uncontrolled spontaneous combustion in the cylinder. It provides an indication of how well the fuel copes with increased compression ratios and advanced engine timing whilst maintaining controlled ignition, i.e., avoiding combustion “knock”, or “pinking” arising from uncontrolled ignition events.

The onset of knock can result in:

  • Loss of engine efficiency, performance & vehicle acceleration
  • Poor drivability, and;
  •  In extreme cases, engine damage.

A higher octane gasoline such as Shell FuelSave 95, being more resistant to knock (thus reducing engine knock), can help to overcome these effects, bringing benefits in engine efficiency, depending on engine design and operating conditions.

Further, and importantly, enhanced octane quality means the fuel can tolerate higher compression ratios and/or more advanced ignition timing and engine designers can utilize this to tune their engines for improved performance. Higher octane fuel allows to advance the spark timing closer to the optimum value, thereby achieving higher torque for the same amount of injected fuel. Conversely, less fuel is needed for a given quantity of torque, thereby fuel economy is improved.
