May we ask for your understanding

Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation (PSPC) respectfully requests your understanding for the temporary closures and product run-outs in our retail stations in Metro Manila and parts of Luzon. The continued shutdown of the First Philippine Industrial Corporation (FPIC) pipeline, which transports PSPC’s petroleum products from our Batangas refinery to our Pandacan depot in Manila has severely constrained our ability to keep all our stations supplied.

In response, PSPC has undertaken various contingency measures to supply fuel to Metro Manila and parts of Luzon. These include, among others, ship to ship product transfers off Manila Bay, redeployment of barges and lorries, and long haul road transportation from our depots in Poro, La Union and Tabangao, Batangas. Government, both local and national, e.g. Department of Energy, Department of Public Works and Highways, Department of Transportation and Communication, Metro Manila Development Authority, Batangas and Makati, have given PSPC invaluable support in removing constraints that affect the back-up arrangements, thereby cushioning the impact of the pipeline shutdown on the public.

However, due to significant logistical difficulties, including road traffic, river tide restrictions and jetty congestion issues, PSPC continues to experience a backlog in deliveries resulting to the said temporary site closures and product run-outs in our retail stations.

We truly regret this situation, and again, we ask for your generous understanding.

We continue to exert our best efforts, working with concerned parties so we can completely restore the continued, safe and reliable service to all our customers.

We will provide updates on the situation. For any customer queries, please contact: (02) 878-8888 or email feedbackandissues-ph@shell.com.
