Subic town is the site where Malampaya Phase 3 (MP3) Project’s Depletion Compression Platform is being fabricated. The MP3 Project, through the Malampaya Foundation, Inc. (MFI) launched a social performance program to promote road safety in Subic town called Project KALSADA or ‘Kaligtasan sa Daan’ (Safety on the Road) to help address the problem of rampant road accidents which is the fourth leading cause of death in the Philippines according to the Philippine Department of Health. Particularly in Subic, there were over a hundred road accidents recorded in the area that involved the tricycle.
