Two community relations projects of Shell companies in the Philippines bagged top awards from the International Association of Business Communicators’ (IABC) 10th Philippine Quill Awards.
The gas technology and sustainable mobility leader also received citations for its numerous other communications projects, bringing their total haul to seven awards during the ceremonies held recently at the Crowne Plaza Galleria Manila Hotel in Pasig City.
Shell’s compelling integrated marketing campaign on protecting the Tubbataha Reefs Natural Park was cited with a Quill Award of Excellence in the Community Relations category. The entry, “Beauty, Bounty, and a Shared Heritage: 25 years of Protecting Tubbataha” showcased Shell’s information, education and communication efforts and its enduring nation-building efforts for more than two decades in the Tubbataha environs in Palawan.
Receiving another Quill Award of Excellence in the same category is the entry “Project KALSADA: Kabataang Ligtas sa Sakuna at Disgrasya.” The road safety program undertaken by Shell’s social investment arm, the Pilipinas Shell Foundation Inc., has helped increase awareness among the youth sector on traffic regulations, safety conduct, and road courtesy across many years of its consistent implementation in areas where Shell operates.
Meanwhile, various other Shell entries also received merit awards for their innovative methods in communications and marketing. The “Be a Godparent, Make the Difference Real Campaign” was cited in the Internal Communication category; the “Shell World Philippine Magazine” for Publication Design; and “The Malampaya Phase 2 and 3 Video: Capturing our Malampaya Journey” in the Audio Visual Category.
The entry “Extending Happiness to Customers with Shell Gas Up, Get Coca-Cola Promo” for the Shell FuelSave Gasoline and Diesel retail products was cited in the Marketing Communication category. In the category of Writing, the entry “Falling in Love with Shell Eco-Marathon Asia (SEM)” showcased the successes of Shell’s annual smarter mobility tilt in inspiring engineering students to develop new energy sources for efficient transport.
“Utmost dedication in everything that Shell engages in is part of its strategy in becoming the most competitive and innovative energy company,” said Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation’s vice president for communications Roberto Kanapi on the citations that illustrated the company’s excellence in business and marketing communications.
