Shell companies in the Philippines mobilises efforts to aid Typhoon Yolanda affected families

Shell companies in the Philippines has mobilized its retail stations and depots around the country as drop off points for all in-kind donations for victims of super typhoon Yolanda that impacted close to 10 Million families in affected regions.
At the same time, Shell has activated its Disaster Relief and Donation Plan and organized a number of activities to provide immediate assistance to affected families in Central Philippines.
“Our concerted efforts to provide immediate relief assistance are indeed critical in this time of need. We are one with the nation in providing relief efforts and rehabilitation in the regions affected by the catastrophic typhoon,” said Pilipinas Shell Vice President for Communications Roberto S. Kanapi.
Shell is now working closely with the Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC), ABS-CBN Sagip Kapamilya Foundation-DZMM TLC, and GMA Kapuso Foundation to extend immediate relief efforts such as food and water assistance, medicine and personal hygiene products, medical supplies and medical missions to severely affected communities. Likewise, Shell will also tap the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) to provide immediate relief assistance.
Shell collaborated with Philippine National Red Cross to help the organization in delivering its relief efforts in ravaged areas. As initial assistance, hygiene kits, thousands of bottles waters, usable shirts were given to impacted families.
Shell is also working hard to provide steady supply of fuel products in a safe and efficient manner in the affected areas.
Aside from these, Shell has encouraged all its 4,000 local staffs to provide cash assistance and in-kind donations to help the victims of the typhoon.
