Cashless, convenient payment—from toll to pump

Motorists frequenting the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) system can now enjoy more convenience, security, reliability, and cost-efficiency when they gas up at Shell.
Shell Retail Philippines initially launched Easytrip tag in two selected Shell gasoline Stations – at NLEX Northbound and at EDSA Balintawak (northbound), motorists most appreciated the ease of refuelling at Shell and the quick turnaround of transactions. Likewise, Shell sought to innovate a new payment method by teaming up with an existing electronic system such as Easytrip, in order to provide Shell consumers added convenience and safety in terms of cashless refuelling.
“Through this innovation, we seek to deliver a superior experience to our valued customers,” says Pilipinas Shell Vice President for Communications Bobby Kanapi.
Motorists with Easytrip devices can head for the designated E-lanes in the selected Shell retail stations to refuel. An antenna automatically picks up the motorist’s tag and a screen displays the available balance in the NLEX toll plaza.
A forecourt attendant approaches the customer and proceeds with refuelling the vehicle with the desired amount of fuel. After being given the receipt, the new remaining balance is also conveniently flashed on the screen before the motorist leaves.
In addition, there is an ongoing special frequency card promotion wherein customers will receive a stamp for every Php1, 000 refuel using the E-Lane. After collecting eight stamps, customers will receive two free Magnum ice creams and a Shell lanyard or windshield shade.
