Shell companies in the Philippines (SciP) bagged the most number of trophies in the recently concluded 50th Anvil Awards of the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP), with a total of 14 recognitions including a Hall of Fame Anvil Award, four Gold Anvil Awards, and nine Silver Anvil Awards.

The awards are mostly in recognition of the excellence in corporate and marketing communications of SciP’s centenary campaign in 2014.

Shell received the Gold Anvil Awards for its PR programmes and communication tools involving the “Isang Daan Tungo sa Kinabukasan” overall Shell centennial campaign; the Shell National Students Art Competition; the “Gas Mo, Bukas Ko: The Joel and Jovel Javier Story” on television; and the Shell Centennial print publicity newspaper covers.

Meanwhile, Shell received Silver Anvil Awards for its communication initiatives covering various internal and external programs, such as the Shell Eco-marathon Asia in Manila; its Yolanda relief and rehabilitation programmes; Shell People Development Week; the “Isang Daan Tungo sa Kinabukasan” centennial campaign; Shell “Be Well” Campaign; the Movement Against Malaria; Malampaya “Stress Buster” programme; the Shell Powering Progress Together Forum; and the Shell FuelSave Celebrity Driving Challenge.

The Hall of Fame Anvil Award was given to the Shell National Students Art Competition programme for winning five consecutive Awards of Excellence in the past years.

On its landmark 50th year, the PRSP Anvil Awards received a total number of 417 entries, out of which only 101 won. Revered as “the Oscars of public relations in the Philippines,” the Anvil Awards is an annual event that serves as a symbol of excellence among communication practitioners in the country.
