“We are aware of the impact the COVID-19 pandemic is having on our fence line community. I hope that this will help mitigate the economic situation of those most in need during COVID-19 crisis,” Shell Tabangao Refinery General Manager Jan Peter Groot Wassink said.

The donation – undertaken in coordination with Pilipinas Shell Foundation Inc – 5kg of Dinorado rice was intended to help indigent families tide over the challenges during the period of enhanced community quarantine.

Barangay Captains of the three communities namely, Mr. Manolo Macatangay (Ambulong), Mr. Jorge Catilo (Libjo) and Mr. Andres Malibiran (San Isidro), shared the same sentiments, “Sobrang malaking tulong po itong ipinaabot nyo sa amin. Sa ngayon, napakahalaga ng bigas sa bawat pamilya lalo’t higit nasa gitna tayo ng krisis.”

Distribution was spearheaded by Tabangao Refinery General Manager Jan Peter Groot-Wassink. Tabangao Refinery Staffs namely, External Relations Manager Darlito Guamos, ER Consultant Edwin Reyes, Procurement Manager Rod Cabral, Site CP Manager Maeleen Pastrano, ER Web/Multimedia Officer John Lester Banuelos and PSFI-TALIM Officers Olivia Sorio, Charelaiane Credito & Pete Javier were also present during the relief operations.

Shell continuously practice being a good partner for the neighboring communities, especially in times of crisis.
